Story: Sarah Houbolt
Sarah Houbolt was born with the rare Hallermann-Streiff syndrome, which affects her bone structure. Houbolt also has partial sight and is legally blind.
However, proudly describes herself as a "natural born freak", she competed at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games in swimming. At the same time, Houbolt is international circus and physical theatre performer.
"I don't think it's a bad thing to bring this natural born freak identity into the contemporary art scene. I'm very body aware and self-aware and I'm really thankful for that”, Houbolt says.
